see in the team as compared to last year with
Bobby as your driver?
JTG Daugherty Racing: Well. Lets see. One of the
biggest differences is that Bobby brings a sense of
calm with him. Its his personality.
is, Before Bobby comes into the stall for service..
whats the last thing that pops in your head before
you go over the wall?
JTG Daugherty Racing: Dont mess up! You just go through the stop
in your head
Mickey47: Does JTDG have a work out room for you
and a trainer to work with you?
JTG Daugherty Racing: We do have a workout
room. Our pit coach owns a gym so he trains us. We work out 2 if not three
times a week depending on how we do the week
before I work out personally 3-4
times a week Im a moring person so our 7
am practice/ workout works for me.
Coolhands: Dave, is there any pit road at any track
in particular that is more difficult than the others as
a pit crew member, and why?
JTG Daugherty Racing: Im not a big fan of tall walls.
So Homestead comes to mind, the other one is
Kentucky when I raced trucks and nationwide Yes there is no mandatory
requirement for pit road measurements. Dover up until a few years
ago had only 42 stalls
mbbnscr47: First hi Dave!. Second: what's your
favorite part of a race weekend?
JTG Daugherty Racing: Im a big fan of the ride
home. To see the family. Second would be the first
stop of the day.
Mickey47: Was it a big adjustment for the team to
go from 5 over the wall to 4 without the catch can
man and how did it effect you the most?
JTG Daugherty Racing: Actually Mickey there is 6
now instead of 7, but we now send the right rear
tire to the front of the car on mostly every stop.
More pressure on me. But all the other guys have
the same amount if not more on them. I have the easy job. Just
dont get hit!
Steve: Hi Dave, Do you think the Toyota power is
where it needs to be?
JTG Daugherty Racing: The Fords are really strong.
I think we are a little behind. But well get there.
Seem to progress every week.
Coolhands: Is there a lot of information sharing with
the MWR teams during the weekend, or do you
guys pretty much work it out on your own?
Steve: I guess you guys are still developing notes
for set ups, is what worked for Marcos close for
JTG Daugherty Racing: I would expect it is. Last
years driver didnt have the experience that Bobby
brings. So I am looking forward to this weekend and
Mickey47: I was disappointed at Talladega after you
and the team worked so hard to keep Bobby up
front all day and then he was hung out to dry at
the end. How do you shake something like that off
after working so hard all day?
JTG Daugherty Racing: Its hard. I was extremely,
lets just say upset, about how it all went down. NO
