Josh: Hi Bobby,
Bobby Labonte: Hi.
Megan: You, Bobby, and JTGD have made a lot of changes the last several months, what aspect of those changes would you say is the most challenging for you to overcome? And challenging doesn't have to be a bad thing, it could be what you are looking forward to overcome the most, I thought I should clear that up.
Bobby Labonte: Stand by
Bobby Labonte: Getting cars built...
Bobby Labonte: We just have to be smart the first half of the season until we get are cars together.
Bobby Labonte: Thanks for those questions.
Josh: As a Daytona native, I was curious if there is any spots locally that you try and make it back to every year when in Daytona (in addition to victory lane of course)?
Megan: Thank you for answering
Bobby Labonte: Volusia Speedway Park for the dirt track racing.
Val: Hi Bobby I am a loyal fan since 1995. So good to see you back with a full time racing season. Does your son, Tyler, have the racing fever too. Does he come to some of your races?
Josh: Very cool place! Thanks for answering...Good luck out there today!
Bobby Labonte: Thanks and Tyler has no interest in the driving part but he likes coming to the races.
Karl: What are the advantages of driving for a single-car team?
Bobby Labonte: We can do things on the fly quicker. We can make decisions faster.
Samantha: What do you expect to happen in today's qualifying races?
Bobby Labonte: My twitter account is @bobby_labonte
BuddyShack: Where's your favorite place to fish and why?
Bobby Labonte: I think it will be calmer than it was Saturday night, but people will try to figure out what they need to do for Sunday's race because this will be the closest to what we do in Sunday's race.
Bobby Labonte: My most favorite spot is the Rio Negro River in Brazil.
Val: Have you done testing at other tracks before coming to Daytona?
Bobby Labonte: Piranha in that river. Caught one. Then swam with them. Now that was on the edge!
Samantha: What did you think about tandem racing, while it lasted?
Bobby Labonte: It was cool for awhile, then everyone perfects everything and it wasn't as spontaneous as it was at first.
BuddyShack: Of all the young drivers that are out there right now, in your opinion who will be the next big thing?
Bobby Labonte: Val --
New Smyrna Speedwway .
Bobby Labonte: I would say Trevor Bayne. Good guy.
LeeV: What's your favorite moment of Daytona?
Val: Glad to see the pack racing out there. I wish you the best of luck this weekend and all season. Stay safe.
Bobby Labonte: Running a go kart here in 1982. I finished fifth and Scott Pruett finished third.
Guest: How was the car yesterday in drafting practice? Did it suck up good?
Bobby Labonte: It was better in the draft than it was by itself. I think it will be fine.
BuddyShack: In your opinion, did it take up to 2000 before you became Bobby and not Terry's brother?
Bobby Labonte: I still am Terry's brother.
Josh: With the nation's leading aviation university in town, many of your local fans are pilots. I know many of your fellow competitors have their licences' and was wondering if you enjoy aviation or have PPL?
Bobby Labonte: I love aviation. I do not have a licence. Something one of these day's I'll do.
BuddyShack: Do you ever get back to Corpus Christi much anymore and do you ever see yourself returning there when/if you retire?
Bobby Labonte: I got to go in five minutes.
Bobby Labonte: I get back there once a year. I don't see myself ending up there.
Samantha: How do you stay fit?
Bobby Labonte: I run, ride my bike and lift weights and try to eat right and hope for the best.
Steve: Car looks awesome! Good luck today and in the 500!!
Karl: Have you ever beat co-owner and former NBA player Brad Daugherty in a game of HORSE?
Bobby Labonte: Thank you. I think the car looks awesome as well.
Megan: Thanks for stopping to chat with us. Thanks for all that you and the team do for us fans. The chat room is my favorite, you should stop by more often ;) Good luck today
Bobby Labonte: No. I have never played him. He didn't want a piece of me.
Bobby Labonte: A couple more than I got to go.
Buddy Shack: Have you had the same motorocoach for 10 years now and if not what did you upgrade to?
Lea: Race hard, be Safe and Good luck this season! See you in April at TMS!
klfolkes: Good luck today & in the 500, Bobby!
Bobby Labonte: Buddy --
